Chef / Owner Brian Tanner
Chef/Owner Brian Tanner is a graduate of the one-time Charleston-based Johnson & Wales. Hailing from Atlanta, Mr. Tanner has worked in fine dining and upscale casual restaurants in San Francisco, Georgia, Alaska, Atlanta, North Carolina, and France. Mr. Tanner relocated back to the Charleston area in 2010 to open his first restaurant, Coleman Public House. An avid homebrewer, Brian constructed a menu of high end gastropub fare to pair with the best available craft and imported beers. With the success of CPH, Mr. Tanner and his partner, Citadel graduate George Vasilos, opened their second location, Maybank Public House, in November 2015. Offering the same great upscale pub fare, MPH offers an even bigger selection of Brian’s favorite beers on tap and seasonal specials.
