In 2012, New Orleans Natives Ronnie Evans and Philip Moseley saw the need for top-notch Barbecue in the city. They decided to start smoking meats in a small pop-up inside of the Uptown dive bar, Grits, and then quickly transitioned to a new location inside Chickie Wah-Wah. Four years and thousands of pounds of meats later, they have graduated to their new, state-of-the-art Mid-City BBQ emporium, where they are serving up some of the city’s finest smoked meats, sides and sandwiches.

This vintage Uptown standby has been serving its famous New Orleans Barbeque Shrimp since 1953. The shrimp are not actually barbequed, but cooked in a delectable, peppery butter sauce.
