Peppered Shrimp

Peppered Shrimp

Yields 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients for Blackened Spice Mix

1/2 cup Paprika
2 tbsp Salt
1/4 cup Garlic
1/4 cup Cayenne Pepper
1/8 cup White Pepper
1 tbsp Thyme
1 tbsp Ground Oregano

Ingredients for Garlic Crumb Butter

Makes 8-10 servings
1 lb Unsalted Butter
3 tbsp Garlic, chopped
1 oz Parsley, finely chopped
2 oz Lemon Juice
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp White Pepper
2 oz Bread Crumbs

Method for Blackened Spice Mix

• Mix all of the ingredients together to make the blackened spice mix.

Method for Garlic Crumb Butter

• Let butter get room temperature to soften.
• In a small bowl add garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to butter. Whisk all of the ingredients together.
• Then add breadcrumbs to the bowl and whisk with the other ingredients.
• After use, refrigerate or freeze the remaining amount.

Method for Peppered Shrimp

• Heat skillet on medium heat and add 2 oz of garlic crumb butter.
• Add 10-12 medium to large fantail shrimp and constantly stir until the shrimp are slightly pink.
• Coat the shrimp with blackened spice mix and continue to constantly stir until the shrimp are done.
• Serve with seasoned rice.
