Angelo Brocato® Original Italian Ice Cream Parlor has been operated by the Brocato family in New Orleans, Louisiana for over one hundred years, but our history is steeped in the Sicilian traditions that could be found in the capital city of Palermo at the end of the 19th century. Along with his brother Giuseppi, our grandfather, Angelo, began his apprenticeship in one of the city’s most elegant ice cream parlors at 12 years old. Through shuffling ice and salt to master chefs and choosing the ripest and finest fruits for producing granita, he learned the special recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation. As the Mediterranean fall turned to winter, all production efforts turned to baking and candy-making. During these cold seasons, young Angelo began to master the production of assorted biscotti, torrone, frutta Marturana (marzipan) and many other confections. Most importantly, he learned the necessary techniques to manufacture the famed cannoli Siciliana; these techniques and recipes are still used today in our North Carrollton shop.Visit

Johnny’s Po-Boys was founded in 1950 by Johnny and Betty DeGrusha. The DeGrusha’s originally opened their small grocery and sandwich shop at 506 Chartres St. Later that same year, when a larger location became available, Johnny’s relocated around the corner to 511 St. Louis St., and has been a New Orleans landmark ever since. It is the oldest, family owned and operated po-boy restaurant in the French Quarter. Today, the third generation is proud and honored to carry on the family legacy.
Mr. Johnny was always known for his generosity, great personality, trademark smile and of course his over-stuffed po-boys. Johnny’s continues serving the largest selection of delicious, over-stuffed po-boys and has become the go-to breakfast place in the French Quarter. Over the years, Johnny’s Po-Boys has received many personal and professional awards, but we are most honored and grateful for all our wonderful patrons, both old and new. Our story begins in the 1940s when Sicilian immigrants Anthony Marullo Sr. and his wife Annie opened their first restaurant in Grand Isle, Louisiana, serving fish, crabs, shrimp, and oysters caught daily in the Gulf. It was here that Anthony Marullo Jr. was born, and taught how to fish the waters that surrounded their barrier reef home. By 1965, the family was selling their fresh seafood in the French Market of New Orleans, and Anthony JR and his wife Barbara decided it was time to introduce Mamma Annie’s dishes to the Big Easy. Moving into the space at Decatur and St. Phillip that is as old as the French Quarter itself, their Creole-style seafood and dishes quickly gained popularity with locals and travelers alike and by 1975 had become a popular mainstay of New Orleans cuisine. Today, brothers, Jude & Anthony Marullo III continue the tradition of serving millions of people from around the world the same from scratch recipes that Annie and Anthony Sr. created almost 80 years ago.Visit
