Balinder Singh

Chef Bali joined Clay Pit in 2000, initially working under the tutelage of renowned Indian Master Chef Maqbool Ahmed. He became head chef at Clay Pit in 2002.
Chef Bali specializes in Indian cuisine, particularly that of North India, which features a wide variety of rich savory sauces, clay oven fired meats, vegetables and seafood, as well as many vegetarian dishes. At Clay Pit, Chef Bali has blended these Indian traditions with influences from around the world to create unique contemporary dishes as well.
Chef Bali received his degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Schiller Int’l University in Switzerland. He completed his chef training at Café Brasserie in Zurich before moving to the United States in 1998. Prior to joining Clay Pit, Chef Bali worked as a Tandoor Chef at Shalimar Indian Restaurant in New Orleans.
