Turner Mussels in Mustard Saffron Sauce

Yields: 4 servings

INGREDIENTS

1 packages Turner Mussels Whole Shell 2.2lbs.
5 T basil, chopped
5 T shallots, chopped
3 sprigs thyme
3 T French mustard
3 T onions
3 T butter
2 t saffron threads
2 garlic, cloves
1 T garlic, chopped
1 C heavy cream
1 C dry white wine

TURNER TIP

  • Turner Mussels Whole Shell are fully cooked in their natural juices - ready to thaw & serve! When you are ready to prepare, simply place the pouch in the refrigerator overnight to thaw. 

    METHOD

  • Saute shallots, onions and garlic in butter until they turn translucent.
  • Add basil, parsley and saffron and stir until mixed well.
  • Add thyme, mustard, pepper and cream. Bring to a boil and stir in Turner Mussels.
  • Cook at medium heat for about 4 to 5 minutes or until all Turner Mussels pop open.
  • Transfer to plate and sprinkle with extra basil or parsley.
