Alcantara Winery

Alcantara Vineyards is a dream venture created by Barbara and husband Bob to provide their family and partners the opportunity to live the dream of growing a vineyard community and winery. It was in cultivating the vineyards and embracing the land that Barbara and her family soon realized there was a bigger picture in this hidden treasure along the confluence of two rivers. You’ll find Alcantara Vineyards has over 13,000 vines and offers 12 different varietals. While you sip wine and enjoy our peaceful surroundings, which include vineyards, a grass picnic area, the Verde River and bald eagles flying overhead, you’ll find you are part of our community and family.

Merkin Vineyards (Cottonwood)

Our farm to your table. Our vines to your glass. Merkin Vineyards is on a mission to deliver a 100% Arizona experience to our extended family and community. It’s a mission few would choose to take on, but essential when Regional, Sustainable, and a Sense of Place are the goal.

• All of our wines are produced by MJ Keenan and his team from our 110 acres of Estate Vineyards in both the Verde Valley and Willcox, Arizona.

• Our fruits and vegetables are farmed by Maynards father, Mike Keenan, who moved here from Michigan to battle the Arizona elements daily in our Verde Valley greenhouses, gardens, and orchards.

• All of our pastas and breads are made from scratch in house by Chef Chris, Chef Bri, and our magical kitchen staff using Arizona grown and milled flour.

Mother Nature beats the drum to which we march and jump. So our menu remains flexible and changes weekly or even daily depending on her whims. It’s a challenge and journey we gladly embrace and we sincerely hope you join us in our quest.

Just six years later, the Pillsbury Wine Company opened in 2006 and began offering his unique Southwestern style. In the decade since, the winery has been recognized for their great wines, receiving more than 26 medals in 2015 and 2016, including several gold medals and the recent double gold award for the 2013 “Guns & Kisses” Shiraz at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition – one of the biggest and most prestigious competitions in the nation – where Pillsbury Wine Company was one of only three double gold award-winners in that category.

Sonoita Vineyards

At Sonoita vineyards, we define sustainability broadly, seeking not only to be responsible stewards of the land, but also to preserve this land for future generations of our family. There is nothing static about this view of sustainability—it requires innovation and action. We believe that preserving the unique ecosystem of Sonoita is essential to wine quality, as well as to the health of our family and business. In 1976, Dr. Gordon Dutt developed a system of water harvesting utilizing the hillside and building berms that would both reduce the affects of erosion and reduce the overall amount of water needed to irrigate. It has been the policy, since our inception, to recycle all bottles and cardboard at the local recycling center. We also compost all wine making byproducts by returning the grape skins, stems, and seeds to the vineyard for use as a fertilizer, which in turn reduces waste.
