Jalapeño Poppers



3 large jalapeños
¼ package cream cheese
2 oz. imitation crab stick
1 tablespoon Japanese mayo
½ box tempura batter mix
oil for frying
salt & pepper to taste
sesame seeds (optional)
sweet soy sauce (optional)
sriracha sauce (optional)
shredded diakon for garnish (optional)


1. Mix tempura batter as directed on the box.
2. Wash and cut jalapeños in half, take out all seeds (leave them in to make them extra spicy).
3. Cut cream cheese into ⅛ inch strips.
4. Mix imitation crab stick with the Japanese mayo, salt & pepper as desired.
5. Stuff each jalapeño half with the crab meat mixture and cream cheese strip.
6. Dip each stuffed jalapeño half in the tempura mix and fry to desired crispness.
7. arnish with shredded diakon, sesame seeds, sweet soy & sriracha sauce if desired.
