 Chinatown

Established in 1983 on Bee Caves road in a flooded out strip center. Owner Ronald Cheng was twenty-three years old and fresh out of UT Austin. With almost half of his young age devoted to Chinese cuisine he introduced the first fine dining Chinese restaurant in Austin. Chinatown Restaurant specializes in the four main styles of regional Chinese cooking—Szechuan, Hunan, Canton and Mandarin. Chinatown was also among the first Chinese restaurants to pair fine wine with fine Chinese cuisine.
