Sean Patrick Ragan

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, into an Irish/Italian family, Sean was introduced to cooking at a young age spending many hours helping his grandmother prepare meals for his large family.

He graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, one of the most prestigious culinary institutions in the country. There, Sean was very fortunate to be trained by very highly celebrated Chefs such as Martin Yan, Paul Prudhomme, Wolfgang Puck, and the late Julia Child.

With his culinary degree in hand, Sean returned to his native New York where he joined the Bice Med Grill, which featured the very cuisine that inspired him to pursue his career. There he utilized the freshest products New York had to offer to satisfy his passion for Mediterranean Cuisine.

Later, Sean joined the busy Hampton restaurant Crazy Dog; known for its home style cooking. After a six-year stay and two restaurant openings, Sean decided to move on to a little known restaurant named Butterfields. There he worked with traditional American cuisine, utilizing American grown foods and their seasonal availability to produce creative, eye-appealing dishes that assured customer loyalty.

After his two-year reign at Butterfield's, Sean joined Oystercatcher’s. Here Sean hopes to continue his love of creating great food that inspires outstanding customer loyalty and maintaining Oystercatchers level of excellence.
