Graduated Southern California School of Culinary Arts, Pasadena, CA.
Spent 1st year out of school working with chef Garnier at Roy's Newport Beach, which provided a great basis of knowledge for working in a restaurant kitchen.
Inspired to broaden my culinary knowledge of fine dining, I joined Chef Andrew Suttons's team at Napa Rose. My 4 years working with Chef Sutton at Napa Rose was a learning experience I could not have received anywhere else. I am greatly indebted to him for sharing his passion for cooking and dedication to consistently preparing, innovative, flavorful meals.
In the winter of 2003 I was approached by Nancy Wilhelm and Partners with the incredible opportunity to be the executive chef and partner of their concept restaurant Tabu Grill. This is my first executive chef position; it has been a great deal of hard work, but well worth it. There is nothing like seeing my culinary concepts come to fruition on the plate. Tabu has become a bit of a hub for the Laguna locals, as well as a destination for Epicurean’s from L.A to Palm Springs.
