Kevin Vizard
Executive Chef

Kevin Vizard has been a player in the New Orleans restaurant scene for more than 20 years and he still loves what he does everyday. A New Orleans native, Chef Kevin Vizard, compares his passion for food with his love of the Big Easy: “Cooking is a lot like New Orleans – it embraces you and just won’t let go. You can leave it but it never leaves you.” Kevin’s first job interview was as a cook at Commander’s Palace in 1981. Despite that the Commander’s kitchen was fully staffed at the time, the Brennans are never ones to pass up the opportunity to uncover raw talent, so they quickly directed him to Royal St. so that he could gain his experience at Mr. B’s Bistro– a “sibling” in the Commander’s Palace Family of Restaurants. From there Kevin honed his skills and spread his charm throughout the New Orleans restaurant scene. After a stint in the early 90’s as Chef/ Proprietor of his own restaurants, Vizard’s and Kevin’s, Kevin returned to where his passion for food all started with the Brennan family. He signed on as sous chef of Commander’s Palace in 2000 and felt at home immediately. The combination of Kevin’s talent, experience and affable personality made him the obvious choice as Executive Chef of the Brennan family’s newest venture, Café Adelaide and the Swizzle Stick Bar. “We have enjoyed our relationship with Kevin so much over the years – both as a colleague and as a friend,” says co-owner Ti Martin. “Kevin is truly the New Orleanian’s New Orleans chef! One of our city’s greatest talents.” “We’re having fun with everything from po-boys to foie gras,” says Vizard of the menu at Café Adelaide. “It’s Big Easy flavor and Brennan hospitality seasoned with a dash of sass.”
