| Bao Bao - Taiwanese-style sandwich |

| Ingredients |
1 pkg buns, folded
1 head of lettuce
1 C Szechuan pickles
1 C peanuts, grounded
1 beef shank, whole

| METHOD |
|
Put beef and beef ingredients into a large pot. The ingredients should be enough to cover the beef.
Turn the heat on high until boil, then change to low/medium for at least one hour, until the beef is chewy and soft.
Take the beef out of the pot and cool completely. Then slice to desired size.
Drain the remaining sauce as dip for the sandwiches.
Boil water in the steamer.
Put folded buns into steamer around 7 - 10 minutes until soft.
Open buns and dress with lettuce, sliced beef, pickles, peanuts. |

1/2 C sugar
5 large slices of ginger, smashed
5 garlic halves, smashed
1 t salt
3 green onions, smashed
5 star anise
hot pepper (optional)
