Taberna del Albardero

Twenty-five years ago, Luis de Lezama opened a small restaurant in a townhouse near the Royal Palace in Spain’s capital city of Madrid. Without any prior training, he began serving meals. Thus was born Taberna del Alabardero, or Tavern of the Palace Guards. Lezama continued his success with locations in Puerto Banus, Sevilla and eventually Washington D.C., where Executive Chef Josu Zubikarai, who like Lezama, is from the Basque region of Spain, commanders a world class kitchen, garnering both local and national praise and accolades. We invite you to enjoy our beautiful restaurant, where tapestries and lace bring you back to the old country. Enjoy classic favorites such as lobster and seafood paella, fried squid and delicious tapas.
