Chef/Proprietor John Platt
John Platt is a 1981 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and received a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from the University of New Haven, Connecticut, in 1990. Prior to his arrival in Boulder in mid 1990, John plied his trade in fine establishments in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Hawaii, and California. John’s dedication over the years has resulted in a style that features an emphasis on creative seafood preparations, the use of fresh organic produce, and inspired presentations. During John’s 14-year tenure of ownership, Q’s has garnered frequent high praise from the Colorado and national media. Q’s has been included in the Zagat Survey “Americas Top Restaurants” and been awarded 4 Stars in the Mobil Travel Guide. Denver’s 5280 Magazine recently named Q’s one of Denver’s “25 Very Best Restaurants”. At Q’s, you are also likely to find outstanding preparations utilizing locally grown organic produce, Colorado lamb, Nebraska buffalo, locally produced cheeses, Montana huckleberries, an array of foraged wild mushrooms, and other examples of the bounty this region has to offer. John lives in Boulder with his wife Sabrina and their two sons.
